What are Children's Ministries Camps?

Whenever Fremont Christian School closes for a week-long break, Children's Ministries from Harbor Light organizes a week-long day camp so that parents don't have to miss work as often. We have high school counselors who are responsible and ready to play with your child. We assign children into teams and place a counselor over that team. Throughout the day the counselors watch out for each member of their team.

Who may attend the day camp?

All elementary children ages 5 years old up through 6th grade can attend. You do not have to be a Harbor Light member to attend. If your child is going into 7th grade in the fall, they may still attend the camp. Your child does not have to attend Fremont Christian School to join our camp.

How much will it cost?

Early registration for the first child is $160; the second sibling is $110; the third or more sibling's registration is FREE! Early registration ends the week before each camp. The closer to the camp that you register, the higher the price. It "pays" to plan ahead. Christmas Craze daycamp is only $130 because it is only four days long.

Are there any DISCOUNTS available?

 What if I need to cancel?

If you've registered your child in a camp but are unable to attend it, we will be happy to issue you a refund as long as you notify us within the time frame spelled out on each day camp brochure. No refunds will be issued AT ALL if you notify us during the week of the day camp.

How may I register my child?

Click on the day camp you want your child to attend and follow the prompts. We allow you to pay by credit card on-line only. If you do not wish to pay on-line, you may print out the registration form (see above), write out a check, and drop it off in the Business Office mail slot which is open 24/7.

May I send my child one, two or three days only?

Daily rate registration is NOT available on-line. PLEASE NOTE: If you walk in the week of the day camp and wish to register your child for the field trip days ONLY, your rate will be $50/day. We pre-pay all of our fieldtrips which is why we ask that you register BEFORE each day camp. Whenever you walk in without pre-registering, you will experience a higher rate.

  1. Pre-registered daily rate: $40/day for non-field trip days.
  2. Pre-registered daily rate: $45/day for field trip days.
  3. Walk-In daily rate: $45/day/child for non-field trip days.
  4. Walk-In daily rate: $50/day/child for field trip days.

May I have a receipt after I pay?

You may pick up your receipt the first day of the day camp you paid for. It is your responsibility to hold on to this receipt because no other "end of the year" receipts will be issued.

What does my child need to wear or bring with him/her to camp?

Everyday you child will need a lunch. You will be notified if lunch will be provided (if we go to Chuck E. Cheeses) so unless we tell you NOT to bring a lunch, always pack and send a lunch with your child. Your child can wear "free dress" clothes. We ask that NO HEELIES be worn. If your child needs sunscreen protection, send it with your child.

Where and when do I drop off my child? Is there an extra fee?

You may drop off your child as early as 6:30 a.m. - the same as Fremont Christian School hours. The Activities Building is where you will drop them off and pick them up. We require your child to be signed in and out every day, the same as Fremont Christian School. Before and After Child Care is included in the price of the daycamp. If you pick up your child after 6:30 p.m. then we do require an extra fee.  See your registration form for specific cost.

Do you stay on campus or are there field trips? If there are field trips, will there be an extra cost?

We believe the day camps should be fun! Going on field trips are fun so during every day camp we go on one or two fieldtrips. We leave from campus and return to campus so you will drop off your child and pick them up in the Activities Building. Sometimes the activities we choose require WAIVERS. They are always posted on-line under the page called "Field Trips & Activities". Print out the waiver and hand it in along with your registration form. Do not wait until the day camp starts.

If I register before the field trips are decided, how do I find out about the trips?

Check this website. Each field trip, once it is planned, is posted under the day camp on a page entitled "Field Trips & Activities." If you check a camp and that page does not appear, that means we are still planning the activities.

What about the week of Thanksgiving? Is there a day camp during November?

Yes there is a three-day camp the week of Thanksgiving. Children's Ministries does not run that camp. The Youth Department under Pastor Dave and Kim Chiolero are in charge of that one. All questions about the November camp should be directed towards them. Call 510-744-2233 and ask for the Youth Department.
